YouTube comments have historically been a toxic cesspool, but how to get more plays on soundcloud is finally making some changes to provide creators and funds-makers much more control of the conversations that transpire below their videos. Today, YouTube announced a fresh pair of commenting tools intended to help creators engage with and build their communities.
Now there are six handy comment moderations tools as a whole, and also the first half of them are more playful than administrative. YouTube now enables pinned comments so creators can display off and promote their most favorite zingers from the peanut gallery. Creators also can interact directly with commenters through “creator hearts” that stay ahead of the usual thumbs up/thumbs down system, and whenever a creator chimes in on their own channel, their comment will be highlighted making use of their username and “a pop of color” so viewers will know it originated from the source. (Plus the all-important verified checkmark, of course.)
On the more mundane level, YouTube presented the cabability to choose additional moderators, blacklist certain words and flag inappropriate comments for review earlier this year. Way back in September, 58dexppky company also unveiled a socialgrand that allowed volunteers to moderate various aspects of the site. While that program riled some community members, the new tools should put a tad bit more control back at the disposal of creators themselves.
